Metrovent is the first all-in-one measuring and adjusting flowmeter, specifically designed to quickly balance the flowrates in a ventilation system. It can be installed along any DN 75 ventilation duct. It leverages an innovative and patented mechanical turbine-based method, the red hand shows the flowrate at a glance. The butterfly valve then allows to adjust the flowrate at a glance with a screwdriver.
Quick and accurate balancing
Flowrate at a glance
Metrovent is the first device that boasts:
- Scale in m3/h
- Resolution of 1 m3/h
- Certified accuracy by a notified Accredia laboratory
- Measurement range from 0 up to 40 mc/h
With such advanced features and accuracy, Metrovent can successfully be deployed to comply with the mandatory EN 12599 norm for the ventilation system balancing and handover procedure.
Instant system-wide flowrate balancing
Metrovent can be installed in anywhere along the DN 75 duct, in a false ceiling or inside a partition. Placing one Metrovent for each duct next to each other, enables the possibility to quickly read and balance all ducts at the same time. Unlike any other measurement device, Metrovent is permanently installed with the ventilation system, this allows to quickly carry out any diagnostic on the ventilation system, like a reduced flowrate due to clogged filters on the ventilation unit.
Deliver compliance with every ventilation system
Balancing is mandatory, with metrovent it’s easy
Metrovent has a measurement uncertainty calculated according to the EN 12599 below 10% and is certified by an accredited laboratory for flowrate measuring devices. A calibration process at the factory during production guarantees the accuracy and repeatability of the measurement over time. Such precision makes Metrovent compliant to new EN 12599 standard for balancing and handing over of a ventilation system. This norm demands a flowrate measurement and balancing to be carried out at construction site before handing over the ventilation system. Such operations are incredibly easy with Metrovent.
Accuracy and convenience like no other device
Metrovent was developed specifically with Heat Recovery Ventilation Systems in mind, for this reason it is no match for any general-purpose measurement device when it comes to ventilation in residential buildings as well as small commercial premises.
How Metrovent works
An innovative turbine and calibrated contrasting spring
Inside Metrovent a 8-blade turbine is fitted, equipped with a contrasting calibrated torsional spring. When the airflow flows through the turbine, it generates a torsional moment, proportional to the flow, balanced by the action of the spring. The result is a shift of the turbine from the rest position to a new position of equilibrium, proportional to the flow flowing in the pipe. The turbine has a needle that gives an immediate reading in m3 / h or CFM of the airflow.
Adjust the flowrate with a screwdriver
Metrovent has a butterfly valve, positioned downstream of the turbine so as not to interfere with the measurement. This valve can be adjusted with a screwdriver, acting directly on the airflow rate and thus achieving the target value.
Install on any DN75 duct
Metrovent comes with 4 plastic clips included in each package, which enables a tight and tool-free installation on any DN75 ventilation duct. This way Metrovent can be installed anywhere along the duct, right downstream from the manifold or directly in the partitions of the apartment. Internally Metrovent is completely airtight, thanks to the O-ring gaskets on the butterfly valve.
The benefit of clarity with virtually no pressure loss
The design of Metrovent was performed with the most- advanced aeronautical design method and testing procedure. For this reason, the pressure drop of Metrovent 75 at a flowrate of 30 m3/h are lower than 1 Pa, and so completely negligible in the dimensioning and operation of a ventilation system.
